Item 1: Cartoon
-
The rhetorical device
used in this picture is metaphor.
-
Analysis: This picture
shows the image of new graduated students are on the way to seek jobs and find
it not smooth to go. The way from school gate to jobs is not a solid bridge and
any new graduated students can fall down whenever. That means the knowledge
which students learned at school is far away from reality and lack of pratices,
so they will have many difficulties in their jobs after.
-
Message: Education measure
should be innovated immidiately. Praticing and reality knowlegde must be
trained in school.
Item 2: Poem
Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow
-
Author: Langston Hughes
-
Rhetorical
devices:
· Repetition:
“Hold fast to dream”
· Simile:
Life – Broken-winged bird
Life – Barren field
· Rhyme:
Die – fly
Go – snow
-
Message:
Life can’t be better without dreams. Dare to dream, you will dare to do.
Item 3: Passage
Two frogs dwelt in the same pool. The pool
being dried up under the summer's heat, they left it and set out together for
another home.
As they went along they chanced to pass a
deep well, amply supplied with water, on seeing which, one of the Frogs said to
the other: "Let us descend and make our abode in this well."
The
other replied with greater caution: "But suppose the water should fail us,
how can we get out again from so great a depth?"
-
Analysis: The story tells about 2 frogs that go to find another
place with water to live in summer because the pool where they live being dried
up. One frog suggested to abode in the well with water they found. The other
frog says that they shouldn’t live in that well, because they can jump down and
stay there easily, however, once they jump down, forever they stay there.

Message:
“Do nothing without a regard to the consequences”
- I can not see your picture in the 1st item, there might be something wrong when you attach the picture, please fix it so I can comment for you.
Trả lờiXóa- In the second item, you should notice that there is not only rhyme among the sentences, but it also has in the same sentence like frozen – snow.
- In your final item, you have just analyzed the story without defining the rhetorical devices. For example, the rhetorical question like “But suppose the water should fail us, how can we get out again from so great a depth?” Please complete it to make your entry better ^_^
Here are my some comments. I hope they will be useful for you.
Trả lờiXóa- Item 1: In my opinion, the message does not reflect the picture that you attached correctly. You stated that "Education measure should be innovated immediately. Practicing and reality knowledge must be trained in school". However, I do not see what in picture represents for "practicing and reality knowledge". You can reference my message about the picture: "It is very difficult for people to get a good job even bachelors"
- Item 2: I agree with the rhetorical devices and message that you stated.
- Item 3: I agree with Thuong that you need to add some rhetorical devices to get a better item.
- I agree with Tài that there is no connection between your picture and your message. Nothing in the picture indicates that "the knowledge which students learned at school is far away from reality and lack of pratices, so they will have many difficulties in their jobs after". You have a wrong analysis that leads to a wrong message. From my view point, the message should be " Fiinding a job is more and more difficult, even to those who have bachelors"
Trả lờiXóa- Item 2: I think you lack 1 rhetorical devices. It's metaphor in 2 sentence: "Life is a broken-winged bird" and "Life is a barren field".
- Item 3:where are the rhetorical devices? List them!
In general, your entry is short
Trả lờiXóahere is some my comments for your entry 1:
item 1:the picture is not connected with your message. i think it just mention that the new grads are difficul to adapt to the job.the message here may be "the distance between education and practical work"
item 2: i am satisfed with your analysis
item 3: it is not clear about the rhetorical devices are used in the story. you should focus on analysing rhetorical devices to clarify the story. :)
I have some comments for you:
Trả lờiXóa_In item 1, I don't think this picture represents the lack of practices of the knowledge which students learned at school. It may only reflect the jobless rate of graduates.
_In item 2, i think that this poem means that you have to hold on to your dreams and ambitions because without you dreams life can be pretty meaningless, hold on to dreams and never give up. Your dreams can shatter before your eyes but hold onto them and don't let them shatter.
_In item 3, I totally agree with Thuong.
Hope it help :)
