Analysis:

This is an advertisement for ketchup and is showing that a woman can open the bottle. The word “ woman “ underlined in the caption below emphasizes that it is a woman who can open it all by herself without the assistance of a man, which is skeptical. The problem with this advertisement is that it is giving a false notion that women can not do anything, such as simply opening a ketchup bottle without assitance of men. Unfortunately, most people in society have same thought as this: women are not as strong as men, or even not strong at all. Therefore, they think women are incapable of doing things that men can do.

Item 2: Bias in Research

Hơn 75% nhân viên không thích... làm sếp

            

Theo một nghiên cứu mới do Office Team tiến hành với 413 nhân viên văn phòng, có đến hơn 3/4 (76%) người lao động nói rằng, họ không hề có chút thích thú gì với vị trí của người quản lý. Gần 2/3 (65%) tin chắc rằng, họ không thể làm tốt công việc đó hơn sếp.

Ngày 16-10 hằng năm, nhân viên ở các công ty tại Mỹ thường tổ chức ngày National Boss's Day (Ngày Ông chủ). Đây được xem là dịp để nhân viên bày tỏ lòng biết ơn với sếp vì đã đối xử một cách công bằng và tốt đẹp với họ.

Có người chọn những bó hoa, có người viết thiếp, viết thư... để trên bàn sếp. Có người lại chọn cách mời sếp đi ăn trưa tại những địa điểm yêu thích... với mong muốn sếp có một ngày vui trọn vẹn.

Analysis:

 Based on bolded line in the above news, the survey was just took by 413 employee, a small  number of people which certainly can not represent different opinions  on this issue of billions of employees in the world. Moreover, the survey does not clearly show where it is carried out, which kind of job the employees took the survey do. This make the conclusion “Hơn 75% nhân viên không thích... làm sếp “ not persuasive and reliable. Consequently, this conclusion is totally the subjective opinion of a minority as well as the author.

Tổng thống Iran bị chỉ trích vì ôm mẹ ông Chavez

Tổng thống Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad bị cáo buộc phản bội Hồi giáo do một bức ảnh thể hiện cảnh ông đang ôm bà Elena Frias de Chavez (78 tuổi), mẹ của Tổng thống Hugo Chavez.

Theo tờ The Telegraph, bức ảnh được chụp trong lễ tang ông Chavez diễn ra vào ngày 8.3. Mặc dù hành động trên chỉ nhằm thể hiện sự cảm thông đối với gia đình người quá cố, nhưng các đối thủ chính trị chỉ trích nặng nề Tổng thống Ahmadinejad.

The Telegraph dẫn lời ông Mohammad Taghi Rahbar, một lãnh đạo tôn giáo ở thành phố Isfahan thuộc miền trung Iran, chỉ trích: “Bắt tay với một phụ nữ không cùng huyết thống trong bất kỳ trường hợp nào, dù là trẻ hay già cũng không được phép”. Theo ông Rahbar, ôm hoặc bày tỏ tình cảm là hành vi không phù hợp với “phẩm giá” của tổng thống nước Cộng hòa Hồi giáo Iran.

Analysis:

 Although the only reason that Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hugged Hugo Chavez’s mother was to simply show his sympathy with President Chavez’s family, he was seriously critizied for this action by political rivals. Such a rightegous action was regarded unsuitable for the potision as a president of Islamic republic of Iran.
