Facebook đang làm ảnh hưởng lớn tới người dùng.

Mọi người vẫn biết rằng việc sử dụng Facebook rất dễ gây nghiện và hoạt động này sẽ làm tiêu tốn của người dùng một khoảng thời gian vô cùng lớn. Thế nhưng đó chưa phải là tất cả, trong nghiên cứu mới đây một luận điểm được chứng minh rằng mạng xã hội này sẽ “giúp” người dùng trong việc... tăng cân và nghèo nàn hơn bao giờ hết.

Facebook làm cho người sử dụng có tính cá nhân hơn và giúp người dùng xây dựng được những tính cách của riêng họ, thế nhưng vì nguyên nhân này, những người sử dụng Facebook có thể dễ dàng đưa ra những quyết định mang tính có lợi cho họ. Theo như Andrew Stephen – trợ lý giáo sư tại Đại học Pittsburgh và Keith Wilcox – trợ lý giáo sư tại trường Đại học Columbia thì Facebook làm giảm khả năng “tự kiềm chế” của con người đồng thời làm cho con người có xu hướng hưởng thụ và đánh giá quá cao những thứ xung quanh. 

Các nhà nghiên cứu này khám phá ra rằng, những người càng dành nhiều thời gian trên Facebook càng kiếm được ít tiền. Thậm chí những khoản nợ cũng tăng dần tỷ lệ thuận với thời gian vào Facebook. Hai nhà nghiên cứu này cho rằng, chỉ cần vào Facebook 5 phút mỗi ngày cũng đủ để làm người dùng bị ảnh hưởng. Nghiên cứu trên được khảo sát từ hơn 541 người sử dụng Facebook tại Mỹ.

Thông tin này có thể làm rất nhiều người sử dụng Facebook không hài lòng. Rất nhiều người cho rằng 1 tỷ người sử dụng Facebook thế nên những trường hợp tiêu cực do sử dụng mạng xã hội này chỉ là "muối bỏ bể". Thế nhưng sau khi nghiên cứu một vài người sử dụng Facebook trung bình 8 giờ mỗi ngày thì kết quả lại không như dự đoán.

Nghiên cứu này còn cho thấy những người sử dụng Facebook có xu hướng tự so sánh rất cao và một bộ phận lớn người dùng Facebook cảm thấy cuộc sống hiện tại của họ khá tồi tệ do so sánh với những bạn bè đồng trang lứa trên mạng xã hội này.

Một đợt khảo sát vào năm 2001 cũng cho thấy 40% người sử dụng thẻ tín dụng kêu ca do họ không thể kiểm soát được thói mua sắm của mình, con số này tăng lên rất nhanh kể từ mạng xã hội Facebook xuất hiện. Hiện tại trung bình mỗi gia đình Mỹ đang sở hữu một khoản nợ lên tới 6.700 USD chỉ vì sử dụng để mua những món đồ không thiết thực, tổng số khoản nợ từ thẻ tín dụng tại Mỹ lên tới 46,7 tỷ USD vào năm 2011.

Analyze: The result of this research shows the bad effect of Facebook on people. However, it does not show any figure that support for the conclusion. Moreover, it just shown the number of people using credit card, not all kind of people who use Facebook. This can not lead to the conclusion that all people using Facebook spend lots of money on shopping. And another research shown in this article about the relationship between the time people using Facebook and the money they make is just conducted among 541 users.

Margaret Thatcher broke Britain and replaced it with something crueller and nastier

To some she fought for Britain. Many others, including the Daily Mirror, felt she spent 11 years fighting against Britain

People's minds were made up long ago on Margaret Thatcher.

To some she fought for Britain. Many others, including the Daily Mirror, felt she spent 11 years fighting against Britain.

The controversial decision to grant her a ceremonial funeral, honoured with the full horse-drawn gun carriage and trappings bestowed on Diana, Princess of Wales, and the Queen Mother, means she continues to split us in death as she did in life.

If widespread public consent is the ­qualification for a ceremonial send-off, with its £5million bill, then the ­immediate reaction tonight suggested that does not exist with Lady Thatcher.

She was the nation’s first woman Prime Minister and without doubt the Conservative leader left her imprint on the country she ruled inflexibly during a 1980s scarred by riots, strikes and strife.

The people who suffered under her ­have long memories.

They don’t forgive the agony inflicted on communities and industries systematically destroyed because they were deemed part of ­Britain’s past, not the future.

Selfish, reckless greed was unleashed in the City of London while much of the rest of the country endured mass unemployment.

Deepening poverty created two nations.

And on one side, dumped on the scrapheap, were the bruised and bloodied ­casualties of her economic and political drive.

Margaret Thatcher broke Britain and replaced what had come before with something crueller, nastier.

Many of the problems experienced today on bleak estates – joblessness, drugs, despair and hopelessness – can be traced back to her disastrous premiership.

The balance sheet weighs heavily against her. Even the sale of council homes at a discount – hailed as a great success and extending property ownership – came with a nasty sting in the tale.

Her government stopped councils using cash from the sale of those properties to build more new homes.

The legacy of that is today’s housing crisis.

We recognise she became a frail old lady and her two children have lost a mother.

But her passing away doesn’t rewrite political history.

Those who suffered will never love her, no matter how grand a funeral winds its way through central London.

Many emotive words can be found in this article (highlighted) It mainly focuses on criticizing her and her premiership, ignoring all the things that she contributed to the nation.
